The Village South Launches a Dedicated Home for Child Welfare Case Management in Miami-Dade

DORAL, FLA. — On May 15, 2026, The Village South, WestCare’s South Florida subsidiary, launched villagesouthfamilies.org  — a dedicated website for the Child Welfare Case Management program serving children and families in Miami-Dade County.

The site is the program’s most visible step yet since The Village South was selected in 2025 by Citrus Family Care Network — the Community-Based Care lead agency for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties — to provide Full Case Management Services under contract FCMA-2024-ITN-01. Services are delivered regardless of a family’s ability to pay, in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

The new site was designed around the people it serves. Parents and relative caregivers can see what to expect from their case manager, understand their rights and responsibilities, download safety-planning tools, and — as the program rolls out its Parent Portal — see their case plan and court dates online. Youth in care have a section of their own, covering services, independent living supports, and rights. Prospective foster parents can read a plain-language path to becoming a licensed resource family in Miami-Dade. Community stakeholders, referral partners, and journalists will find contact information, leadership bios, and program overviews.

“We wanted a site that treats every visitor — whether a parent walking in during a crisis or a prospective foster parent browsing on a lunch break — with the same compassion our staff bring to their day-to-day work,” said Barbie Toledo, Deputy Administrator. “Clear language, mobile-first design, and a real phone number on every page. That was the standard.”

The launch follows the November 2025 opening of The Village South’s purpose-built Family Services Building at 5605 NW 82nd Avenue in Doral — the day the City of Doral proclaimed “Village South Child Welfare Day.” Together, the building and the site give Miami-Dade families and the community a visible, accessible front door to the program.

The site includes a Careers section for case managers, supervisors, and clinical staff; a Resources hub connecting families to 24-hour hotlines and community partners; and a secure staff portal so case managers can quickly find the current Florida Safety Practice forms and guidance that support their work with families.

Miami-Dade residents interested in becoming foster parents can begin at villagesouthfamilies.org/foster-parent. Anyone worried about the safety of a child should call the Florida Abuse Hotline, 1-800-96-ABUSE, any time.
